The Project - 2026

The Project this year is:-

To turn three matching egg cups to fit an egg provided (Supermarket size 7)

Teams

To consist of three turners. At least one member should be a novice

If a club is unable to mount a team, then clubs are encouraged to combine

Clubs are encouraged to choose a fun name for their team

Handicap

The teams will be handicapped according to the years that the contestant has been turning. As follows

Each member has 10 or less minutes to complete the egg cup, depending on the handicap

1.            Novice: less than 2 years               0 minutes handicap

2.            Intermediate: 2-10 years               2,5 minutes handicap    

3.            Experienced; 10 + years 5-minute handicap

One egg cup will be turned at a time

Materials

                Each team will be provided with a size 7 egg and three blanks consisting of 60 X 120mm macrocarpa,

Basic PPE is provided. Competitors advised to bring their own. Tools are not provided.

Finishing

                This should be off the tool only

Judging

                The egg cups will be judged on Form, uniformity, and finish.
